Ashley Shew, assistant professor in the Department of Science and Technology in Society, serves as the faculty adviser of the Disability Alliance and the treasurer of the Disability Caucus. Her academic interests are in philosophy of technology, animal studies, emerging technologies, and disability studies. She teaches medical dilemmas, technology and disability, and philosophy of technology. An amputee since January 2014, Ashley is very proud to be part of the Disability Alliance & Caucus and associate with such a rich and committed community. She serves as a board member for the local NRV Disability Resource Center (a Center for Independent Living) and for the international Society for Philosophy and Technology.
